It was only when I started researching that I realised that the majority of kitchen sponges, cloths and brushes are plastic. For something that is used for a couple of months and then thrown away, this was a lot of plastic that I had sent to landfill. Switching to a plant based dish brush was amazing because I knew this wouldn't give off any micro-plastics either.
